Employment Situation Report
The Employment Situation Report is a monthly report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) that provides a comprehensive overview of the U.S. labor market. The report includes data on the number of people employed, the number of people unemployed, the unemployment rate, and the labor force participation rate. It also provides information on the number of people who are not in the labor force, the number of people who are working part-time for economic reasons, and the number of people who are marginally attached to the labor force.
History of the Employment Situation Report
The Employment Situation Report has been released monthly since 1940. The report was initially released as the “Monthly Report on the Labor Force” and was later renamed the “Employment Situation Summary” in 1967.
